Start construction of wood-fired heating plant BeGreen in Lelystad (NL)
The construction of the wood-fired heating plant in Lelystad, in the Dutch province Flevoland, officially started last week. HoSt signed the contract with heat supplier BeGreen in February. HoSt engineers, supplies, constructs and commissions the heating plant and expects installation of the furnaces in May 2018 and ‘first fire’ in October.
This will be the first wood-fired bioenergy plant in the province Flevoland. Annually, the plant will combust up to 30,000 tonnes (depending on the heat demand) of wood chips obtained from required forest maintenance in the whole area of Lelystad. The produced renewable heat will be supplied to the district heating net of Lelystad, equivalent to heat for circa 5,000 homes.
