HoSt on Business Mission to Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil

HoSt participated in the business mission from the Netherlands to Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil. We met interesting people and surely hope to stay in touch and to keep working on entering the Brazilian market.

We were welcomed at the offices of FIERGS (Federation of Industries of Rio Grande do Sul) to give a workshop to people form the state of Rio Grande do Sul with an interest in biogas. There were presentations about the status of biogas in the Netherlands and the subsidy system as we know it. HoSt had the opportunity to add to the workshop with a presentation about developing successful biogas projects.

Visits to several municipalities, a biogas plant, a pig breeding farm and the state gas company followed later in the week.

It was very interesting to meet the people from Brazilian companies that work on biogas and biomethane projects in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, as well as experiencing some of the Brazilian (business) culture.
