HoSt and Birch Solutions sign Exclusive Partner Agreement for Biogas Technology Deployment in the UK
HoSt and Birch Solutions have signed an exclusive partner agreement to market HoSt’s biogas technology alongside Birch Solutions services and operations in the UK. Birch Solutions is one of the UK’s leading AD plant service providers, providing a full suite of services and maintenance along with biogas plant optimisation. In this strategic collaboration, the focus will be promoting and selling plant expansion projects to existing plant operators as well as complete, new build AD plants.
Mark Sacker, Managing Director of the North Lincolnshire business, said he felt Birch Solutions is the perfect fit for HoSt due to the expertise within the business and their contacts within the biogas industry.
Sacker: “HoSt is a big and respected name worldwide and has been pioneering innovative technology in the anaerobic digestion and renewable gas industry for more than 30 years. The UK has a large number of small AD plants but with government incentives favouring larger plants in the future, the opportunities for individual plant expansions are significant. HoSt’s expertise in biogas plants builds, from small agricultural plants to larger industrial projects means they are very well positioned to provide everything the UK market will require”.
In the UK, HoSt is currently constructing an anaerobic digestion plant at the diverse and forward focused Charlton Park Estate, developed by Raw Energy and at the Stanton Recycling site in Ilkeston for Stanton Energy, both for biomethane-to-grid injection purposes.
Full bioenergy technology suite
HoSt Group, headquartered in the Netherlands, is the only full bioenergy technology provider and has, to date, offices and over 350 bioenergy plants across Europa, North America, and Asia.
Sjaak Klein Gunnewiek, Sales Manager of HoSt: “We are delighted and honoured to be represented by Birch in the UK. HoSt has positioned itself as industry leader in terms of efficiency, ROI, sustainability, and innovations. With Birch as experienced and strong customer-focused service-partner in the UK, we are excited to build on the strong momentum that the UK anaerobic digestion market is offering with the new Green Gas Support Scheme (GGSS) and Green Gas Levy”.
Since its founding in 1991, HoSt developed a full-technology suite, and is able to offer a total in-house anaerobic digestion solution including upgrading of biogas to biomethane, bio-LNG and virtual pipeline.
In addition, HoSt offers a variety of carbon capture solutions and installations for the production of renewable heat and electricity through thermal conversion of wood waste, RDF, and waste. With a strong in-house R&D department, and having innovation and entrepreneurship deeply rooted in the organisation, HoSt also owns own-to-operate installations that enhance R&D capabilities and enables to offer renewable energy as a service.
