MIDDENMEER, NETHERLANDS: GREENHOUSES AGRIPORT IN MIDDENMEER HEATED BY HOST BIOMASS BOILER INSTALLATION
A large number of greenhouses on the “Agriport A7” business park in Middenmeer are sustainably heated by the 19.6 MWth biomass boiler installation that HoSt delivers turn-key.
The initiator of the project is Energie Combinatie Wieringermeer (ECW), a fusion of Agriport greenhouse growers who want to contribute to a sustainable energy supply in the greenhouse horticulture area. The 15 MWth fire tube boiler, in combination with the flue gas condenser, delivers a total of 19.6 MWth and ensures an efficiency of no less than 118%. Thanks to advanced online cleaning techniques, the vertically placed boiler achieves an availability of no less than >96.5%. The bag house filter ensures guaranteed low dust emissions of <5mg/Nm3.
GREENHOUSE GROWERS INVEST IN RENEWABLE HEAT
The greenhouse horticulture companies located on the Agriport site are not the only ones who invest in heating the greenhouses with renewable heat. A little further in the “Het Grootslag” area in Andijk, HoSt is realizing a 15 MWth biomass combined heat and power plant. HoSt operates the installation in Andijk and supplies renewable heat to six greenhouse horticultural companies.
