Two hundred dairy cows with calves are kept on the dairy farm of Franke. On this farm, HoSt has built a Microferm plant. The unique characteristic of this biogas plant is that the residence time in the Microferm digester is very short. Therefore, the required volume, and hence the private energy consumption, is very low. This makes it possible to digest 100% manure.
At this location is chosen for adding a solid feeding system to the plant in order to digest fodder leftovers and /or other waste products besides manure in the Microferm.
