Pig innovation centre Sterksel is, in cooperation with the Wageningen University and Research Centre (WUR), a research and innovation centre for renewable energy and pig farming. A biogas plant was already built, after which HoSt built a new digester with a solid feeding system and CHP unit. This new digester is integrated with the existing plant. HoSt has added a new control system so that the whole system is easier to operate. The plant produces 2.9 million kWh electricity per year.
