HoSt has constructed a biogas plant in Talgarth, Great-Britain, with the purpose of generating sustainable electricity and heat from slaughterhouse waste. Next to the waste products from the slaughter house, agricultural products from the private company are also used as input for the plant.
The digestion plant has a fully separated input of slaughterhouse waste and agricultural waste products. The slaughter house waste is provided with a size reduction step. The digestate of the entire plant is sanitized at 70°C for one hour. The total capacity of the plant is 500 kW.
In the future, the second phase will be constructed, in which the system will be expanded to double capacity.
