In the village Spilsby, HoSt has built a digestion plant with a total capacity of 1,200 kWe. The input of the plant consists of corn, grass and vegetable waste.
The plant has a solid feeding input of 60 m³. The grass and the corn are mixed into the solid feeding in order to realize a stable input. A high total efficiency is achieved through the use of highly efficient digesters and the combination of two main digester with an after-digester.
The digestate is separated into a thick and thin fraction with a screw press separator. The total capacity of the biogas plant is approximately 9,600 MWh/a.
