This biogas facility – located in Jelsum, the Netherlands  – was constructed in 2006 by HoSt and has been producing biogas ever since. Initially. The plant was designed to generate electricity from manure and by-products. However, in 2016, the facility underwent a repowering – adapting the plant to biomethane production with capabilities for gas-to-grid injection. Thereafter in 2022, HoSt replaced the biogas upgrading system with a larger unit. The biogas plant has an annual production of more than 2 million Nm³ of biomethane – equivalent to the annual gas consumption of 1600 Dutch households.
