HoSt and CPCEP Bio-Energy LLC this week signed the contract for a joint venture in China to establish a strategic partnership in the bioenergy market. Subsequently, HoSt signed the contract to supply its first biogas plant in China.
The contracts were signed in Bejing by director Marcel te Braak of HoSt and CEO Yunfeng Bai of CPCEP Group. “The signing of these contracts represents another major milestone for HoSt in the bioenergy market. This new joint venture strengthens our global position”, said Marcel te Braak.
Advanced biogas plant
The highly advanced biogas plant will be built in Huai’an, China and will produce biogas from rice straw. The produced biogas will be upgraded to biomethane and is compressed to CNG as renewable replacement for natural gas. “Anaerobic digestion and converting biogas to fuel is an important development for the future of China”, Yunfeng Bai stated. The aim is for the first gas to be produced before the end of the year.
